When EI members have achieved a professional membership level they commit to carry out continuing professional development (CPD). Professional members may be asked to provide a record of their CPD by the EI.

Online Professional Development System

The PDS makes it simple to fulfil this commitment and participants can submit their CPD record to the EI or another nominated reviewer of their choice easily. The PDS allows you to keep track of your activities, upload evidence and produce reports in an easy to use format. Use of the PDS is free to EI members.

CPD for all other professional membership grades

There are no formal regulations on CPD for the other professional member grades so members should use their own judgement to determine the best CPD activities for them to maintain their skills, knowledge and competency. Ideally candidates should undertake a range of CPD activities and choose activities that challenge them beyond their every day role.

You can submit a record of their professional development on the EI’s online professional development system or by using the template on the CPD materials section of the Energyzone website.
